146 days to go: Starting to train

Today I ran for 30 minutes, just an easy paced run to get back into the thick of things. I am running based on time rather than distance because it's easier to schedule. If I base my run on distance, it's hard to predict what time I'll finish. I have to leave home before 7:30 am – by 7:00 am ideally – so as to get the work between 8:30 am and 9:00 am, which is an acceptable “time-in” time. 30 minutes enabled me to cover 3.46 kilometres, which translates to an average pace of 8:40 per kilometre. I know that's really slow but I'm 51 years old and I don't think I have the stamina to go faster, at least not yet.
